In a copyright action brought by Ukranian figure skater Oksana Baiul and her company, Oksana Ltd., a federal district court did not err in dismissing her claims, with prejudice, after judgment on the pleadings was granted to defendant NBC Sports, the U.S. Court of Appeals in New York City has ruled. The dismissal with prejudice was affirmed, as was a $50,000 sanction against Baiul’s counsel, Raymond Markovich (Baiul v. NBC Sports, September 7, 2017, per curiam.).
